Raw food expert Tanya Alekseeva explains why and how we can attain balance in our lives
When I first began coaching clients through to their transition to raw foods and supporting them during detoxification, it quickly became very obvious that each and every single person – man or woman graduating or retiring, rich or wishing they were, single or not – had one thing in common: wanting to feel good.
No matter where they came from or what goals they came to me with – to not feel sick and sore for a day – they all simply wanted to feel good.
Is that too much to ask for? And why do we all strive for the same result?
Well if you’ve ever experienced a dis-comfort, dis-order or dis-ease – anything from lingering colds and skin irritations to yeast overgrowth, inability to lose weight, chronic fatigue or worse – it is highly likely, that your body is out of balance.
Now, I’m not a doctor and would never claim to be one, however, it was that very intuitive quest for balance and not the advice of my doctors, which helped me heal many years ago. When my internal organs were badly bruised, inflad and acidified in a horrific car crash, the well-meaning doctors didn’t know a way other than operate. My parents listened to them brainstorm possibilities of things to go wrong in my then-teenage body developing without pancreas, and acted fast to 'kindly decline' the operation. We had to search for a different way to heal.
Because my body at its most vulnerable state was incredibly sensitive to everything then, which didn’t support healing, I would either be able to swallow something and digest it, or my system would reject it instantly. So after each little bite, I’d experience one of two outcomes: the relief of calming and soothing effects or the torture of excruciating, burning pain.
This is how our body attempts to draw attention to potential threats. Unfortunately, with all the heavy and processed foods, as well as stressful environments, our internal hearing (intuition) is so numbed, that most people only discover the built-up pain when it’s developed into something so serious, it’s now impossible to avoid.
Everything in the universe is about creating balance. Your body is no exception. This is the balance which my own body was craving by making me hurt when I ate acidifying food, all so that I’d stop, and making me experience healing when I ate alkaline foods, so that I’d keep on eating it. This balance is called Acid/Alkaline, also known by many as the pH balance. You may already know about it or at least you would’ve heard about it from a shampoo commercial. The beauty industry loves to point out that its products are pH balanced.
