Getting Get Fresh! magazine in the US

Issue_50_cover_screenres_largeSince we announced the US launch of Get Fresh! magazine several weeks ago, many of you have approached us to ask why you can't find it in your local branch of Whole Foods Market or other health store.

We have contacted our distributor and can confirm that the current issue of the magazine, pictured, is currently on sale in over 200 stores across the country. The states that have the most outlets selling it at this point are California and Colorado, though this first US issue is on sale in selected outlets in a total of 35 states.

For administrative reasons it is in no stores in New York City yet - this explains why so many of you there have unfortunately been frustrated in your attempts to get hold of a copy from your local health store, but that is being resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, remember that you can get it from Pure Juice and Takeaway, just off Union Square.

Our distributor has stated that the quickest way to get the magazine into your local store, if it isn't there already, is to put in a formal request to the management of the store. Just inform them that Get Fresh! is available in the US through One Source Distribution. This is the leading magazine supplier of health stores in the US; but if by any chance they need contact details, they can call the company on (800) 541-5542 or fax an order to (888) 329-3117.

Don't forget that if you simply must have your copy now, the last six issues are available to download from our website.

50th issue of Get Fresh! magazine now mailing

Issue_50_cover_screenres_large_2

Hard though it is to believe, here is the 50th issue of Get Fresh! magazine. It wasn't always a gorgeous, glossy, full-colour journal and nor was it always called its current name; it started life as 'The Fresh Network News'. But nonetheless, the publication that was to evolve into the number one raw foods magazine in the world started life almost 16 years ago, in May 1992.

If you are a subscriber, you will be receiving your copy by this Friday if you live in the UK, and shortly thereafter if you live overseas.

If you are not already a subscriber, we are now making Get Fresh! easier to purchase than it has ever been. If you live in the US, look out for this issue in branches of Whole Foods Market and other high-end health stores from mid-March. (If it is not in your local health store, why not contact the manager and ask them to start carrying it - just tell them it is available from One Source Magazine Distribution.)

But we have taken things a good deal further than that. We want Get Fresh! to be a cinch to get hold of wherever you are in the world, so we are about to make this issue available to download from our website. Better still, it will cost just £2.97 - a 25% reduction on the cover price of the print magazine (and that's without taking into account the P&P costs). Later this week you will also find several other recent issues available as e-copies, and in the not too distant future we will have all 50 issues of Get Fresh! online and available to purchase either singly, or as part of some heavily discounted package deals. We are also about to start offering great-value e-subscriptions to Get Fresh! More about all of this in a few days...

Anyway, back to this issue of the magazine and what it contains:

Get Fresh magazine - Winter issue coming soon!

Carol_alt_062007_shot_09000960_4I know I say this every time we have an issue nearly ready to print, but this one is without doubt the best ever. Yes, yes, I know I'm a broken record! But just wait and see... If you're into raw food, holistic health and vibrant living this is one you will not want to miss!

It has some of our best features ever. For starters, there's our exclusive interview with supermodel Carol Alt (pictured). She tells the story of how hitting rock bottom in her mid thirties turned out to be her greatest blessing. Depressed and worn out, she had long been unable to go anywhere without the portable pharmacy she needed to manage her myriad health conditions. A humiliating experience on a modeling shoot in Venezuela was the catalyst that forced her to find a better way. Over a decade later, she is enjoying better health than ever and is passionate about raising awareness of the power of raw food to change lives. Read the interview to find out, in Carol's own words, how the raw diet and lifestyle transformed her world - plus her views on health, nutrition and staying fabulous.

What else is in this issue?

  • Nutritionist and author Natalia Rose on why getting hung up on '100% raw' can prevent you from reaching your true potential
  • It's official: raw food does equal better sex, but only if you do it right. Roe Gallo introduces the lifestyle that will help you reach your true 'SQ'
  • Not sure which water is best to drink? We sort through the confusion with an exploration of the relative merits of tap, bottled and the different varieties of filtered water.
  • An article on the living foods solution to diabetes by Dr Gabriel Cousens
  • Brian Clement with a shocking exploration of the possible implications of planned Codex Alimentarius legislation on our health freedom
  • Sarma Melngailis finds salvation in green shakes
  • World-class athlete Brendan Brazier on the importance of staying alkaline, and how to achieve this
  • Raw chef Chad Sarno presents a New England Christmas feast
  • Heidi and Justin from Raw Food Right Now share their insights into the important role of raw blogs in spreading the word and providing much-needed information and support.
  • Karen Knowler outlines the five steps to freedom from emotional eating
  • "How I beat chronic fatigue syndrome" by Raw Lifestyle Coach Jess Michael
  • 'Mother of gourmet living foods cuisine' Cherie Soria shares her tricks of the trade in the first installment of a new regular column
  • How raw foods and yoga work in tandem for superior health, by Tonya Zavasta
  • Why microbes could be ruining your day, by Pete Vincent
  • Energy soups: what they are, what they can do for you and how to make them
  • Alissa Cohen shares her tips for eating healthily during the party season, and her favourite festive recipes
  • The alternatives to vaccination
  • An in-depth review of the recent Raw Spirit Festival
  • Events, classes and workshops listings. If you have one of these coming up that you would like to promote to raw food fans, email us right away
  • Plus news, reviews, tips, useful contacts and much more!

Like I said, this is one you won't want to miss ;) It's out on December 1, so if you don't already subscribe line up your copy now.

Would you like to be in Get Fresh magazine?

Cover_issue_48_3It's the world's leading raw and living foods magazine.

It's read and acclaimed by many of the world's top experts in the field.

It's the kind of magazine you read from cover to cover once you get your hands on it, and then refer to again and again.

It provides a valuable service to all interested in raw food and vibrant health, whether they are happily wedded to their raw regime, in an on-off relationship with it, or simply flirting with the concept.

How would YOU like to be in it?

During 2008 we will be running a number of features highlighting real-life experiences with raw food. Not just in the popular readers' raw transformations slot, but also journalistic pieces looking at a whole range of issues related to going/staying raw, or rawer.

If you would like to be interviewed and quoted in the magazine, email us, including a paragraph or two about who you are, when you discovered raw food, and what makes your story interesting/which aspects of it could be helpful to other readers. If you are happy to be named, that's great. But if you're not comfortable with that, just let us know and you can rest assured we will not disclose any details that would identify you.

So...what are you waiting for?!?

Get Fresh! - Get it NOW!

A big thanks to everyone who's approached us with feedback about the Autumn 2007 issue of Get Fresh! magazine, out last week. Of course, we're no strangers to praise and appreciation from our readers, but we've never had a response quite like this one. In fact, we're blushing! If you haven't come across our magazine yet here is a little taster of what's contained in the current issue.

Dwlaughingatdusk300dpi_3Interview with David Wolfe

How would you summarize the difference between living on cooked food and living on raw?

First, there is no better directive than raw food. It's almost impossible with the choices available today to avoid processed food unless you have a strong directive that guides you.

Once you know about the benefits of eating natural, raw foods you can guide yourself much better in any restaurant, store or forest much better than if you didn't know.

Raw food not only transforms people's health; it also reconnects them to the earth. The major reason people have lost connection with the earth is because they don't eat foods that come from the earth. It helps people reconnect with what's valuable.

So many people are so lost they think their car is more valuable than their body! They'll take better care of their car or other possessions than they do their body. It's an epidemic in our society.

What, specifically, do you eat?

I live on superfoods but you have to go through a lot of cleansing, detoxing and green juices before you can do that. Once you're alkaline the whole picture changes. The foods I eat often include honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, blue green algae, chlorella, noni and aloe vera. My goal is for everything I eat to be super-loaded with nutrition and consciousness in as few calories as possible. But the key is I want to eat this way and don't feel I am denying myself.

You are a leading advocate for the power of superfoods. What do you consider to be the number one superfood?

The next issue of the world's best nutrition and health magazine

Cid_dd718ff81f9a43349b721c4b985f4_3If you've noticed I haven't posted here in a while, this is because I've been busy finalizing the upcoming Autumn 2007 issue of Get Fresh! magazine. And, well, I'm rather excited about it.

First of all, it is bigger than ever before. Not just a little bit biggera lot! We get such great feedback about this magazine we decided that one of the best things we could do to improve it further would be to give our readers more of what they love. It will be out on September 1 and highlights include:

·        Our Guide To Superfoodsforget all the hype; we've found the foods that will really take you furthest

·        The truth about vaccination

·        Chad Sarno with party food that is guaranteed to impress

·        Our exclusive interview with David Wolfe

·        Brian Clement on the holistic approach to cancer

·        Food combining: why it makes sense and how to practice it

·        Raw Food Coach Karen Knowler troubleshoots a client's lack of energy on a high-raw diet

·        The first installment of Sarma Melngailis's new regular column, Raw In The City

·        How to 'get the glow'

·        Rejuvenationand it's not just about raw food!

·        Alissa Cohen on how to use a dehydrator, plus her favourite recipes

·        Top triathlete and environmental campaigner Brendan Brazier talks to us about peak performance, his transition to raw, and the effect of our food choices on the planet

·        How to make raw chocolate

·        Plus news, reviews, tips, useful contacts and much more

And as if all that isn't enough, it looks better than ever before too. When I posted about the last issue of Get Fresh! I called it the best everat that time it was! This one now takes that crown, but I can tell you already that Winter 2007 will soon steal it away! Unfortunately, it's just a little early to reveal why...

If you haven't yet subscribed to Get Fresh! and you're interested in raw foods, or, for that matter, health, nutrition, personal development or reducing your carbon footprint, you really should!

No other magazine in the world will give you better information on all of the above. That's not just our opinion; it's what we hear from our readers all the time.

We're offering great deals on subscriptions right now and all subscribers also get our exclusive package of free gifts. Read all about it here.

Top raw restaurant opening in London soon

_mg_5654_4Are you as excited as we are about uber-cool Turkey-based company The LifeCo? This rapidly expanding organization is opening a string of 'experience centres' and detox centres across Europe this year and next, all of them offering the highest-quality raw, vegan and organic cuisine.

The experience centres, located in major cities, feature restaurants, juice bars and shops. They also offer cutting-edge health information and education as well as extensive culinary training.

The detox centres, meanwhile, are to be found in prime getaway locations and offer purification breaks incorporating holistic therapies, exercise, yoga, meditation and guidance on living a healthier lifestyle. The company's flagship eatery, Saf Organic Bistro in Istanbul and its nearby Bodrum Detox Centre have both been enjoying glowing reviews since opening their doors earlier this year.

The LifeCo was founded by entrepreneur Ersin Pamuksuzer who later partnered up with world-renowned raw chef Chad Sarno (pictured above) and organic sommelier Joe McCanta. Sarno whose talents have earned him a host of celebrity fans including Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ben Stiller, Helen Hunt and Jane Fonda is rumoured to be busy this summer with preparations for launching London's first ever raw fine dining establishment. This new Saf restaurant, which will be part of a LifeCo experience centre, is scheduled to open by the end of the year with details about launches in other European cities to follow soon.

The above is an abridged version of an article which appears in the Summer 2007 issue of Get Fresh! magazine, out tomorrow. From the Autumn 2007 issue onwards Chad Sarno will appear as a regular contributor, sharing his gourmet recipes and his advice for creating raw food that looks and tastes amazing.
